Grace Kids

Every child is a gift from God with value and purpose. We believe that God has entrusted these kids to us, not so we can provide childcare on Sunday mornings, but so that we can create experiences and lessons that teach them in an age-specific way about God's great big love for them!

Our team is made up of incredible people who love Jesus & know that they are making an impact for eternity! If you would like more information or to connect over coffee with our Children's Pastor Linda Monaghan, you can email her ( or call the church office (253-839-5011).

Grace Kids Sunday school Classes

Infants & Toddlers (Birth - 3 Years Old)

Every little person in our nursery is wonderfully made, uniquely gifted and precious to God. Seeing everything for the first time and in wonder of all God's creations, they are growing and learning by leaps and bounds daily. Our nursery team is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment, sharing God's love as they read, play and interact with babies and toddlers.

Preschool (3 Years Old - 5 Years Old)

We believe that the first five years of a child's life are foundational for their future. In our Early Childhood classes, we focus on developing a child's understanding of God as they develop their words and abilities. We spend time teaching the foundational stories of the bible in a way that is fun, creative and age-appropriate.

Elementary Classes (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)

What would it look like if our kids really understood from an early age, “Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world”? They could change their world! We understand we are developing a generation of world changers who love Jesus.

Each Sunday, kids in grades K – 5 spend time singing songs of worship together and digging into the Word through hands-on lessons and activities. Our focus is on teaching kids that Jesus was a real person, is a real friend and that He can make a difference in their lives today. Together they grow in their faith as they care for each other through friendship; growing in the gifts God has given them.

Grace kids Teachers + Teacher Helpers

Our kids are the most fertile soil in the body of Christ. We genuinely believe that every person who serves with our kids can make an impact for eternity. Our kids are our future. We don't run childcare at Grace... we have amazing kids programs that help kids learn about our great big God, and how much He loves them.

Grace Kids Teachers serve once a month for six months, in one of our weekend services. They are in the same class each month and are in charge of the lesson plan/basic timeline for the morning as outlined by Pastor Linda and the current curriculum.

Teacher Helpers support the teachers by helping with snack, assisting with the lesson and overall room dynamic support. Monthly sign ups are offered through Planning Center Online (our user-friendly online volunteer platform).

Child Dedication at Grace

To dedicate to something means that you are choosing to devote time and effort to a particular task or purpose. A child dedication symbolizes your commitment to devote yourself to raising your child unto the Lord. In the Old Testament, we see our biblical example of child dedication. Hannah asked the Lord to bless her with a child and promised to raise the child, Samuel, with a love for the things of the Lord (1 Samuel 1). When Jesus was born we see Mary and Joseph dedicated him to the Lord in the Temple (Luke 2). In both of these passages, the parents entrusted their child completely to God. Dedicating your child to the Lord means that you are committing to give your child to the Lord all the days of his or her life. Child dedication is a commitment from the parent(s) to live a lifestyle that raises their child in the values of Christ, apart from the values of humanity.

We believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward confession from the scriptural basis found in the book of Acts. Baptism is a personal and powerful decision. Young children under the age of accountability are unable to declare this change. This is why we give our families the opportunity to dedicate their children.

When you present your child to God in the form of a child dedication, you are publicly recognizing that your child belongs to Him and that you will raise the child in a home committed to experiencing and loving Christ. Deuteronomy 6:5-7 says this, ”And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” As Christian parents, you are committing to teaching your child the truth found in God’s word. You are also committing to be a Christ-like example and to lead your children to a personal relationship with Christ.

Since we adhere to historical essentials of Christianity found from cover to cover in the Bible, we invite Christian parents who are married (man and woman) to present their children to the Lord as a couple. Due to the commitment being made in a child dedication, couples that participate in cohabitation unmarried are unable to participate.

A single parent is welcome to present his or her child to the Lord alone, provided that they are committed to doing their best to raise their child to be a follower of Christ.

To make the dedication sentimental to each family, we would like to invite the immediate family of the child to join he or she on the stage during this event.
