commit
The first stage of the discipleship process is committing
to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. This initial step is
characterized by putting our faith in Christ for salvation (Romans
10:9-10), obedience to the public faith expression of water baptism
(Acts 2:38) and intentionally seeking to live a life empowered by the
Holy Spirit (experienced through Holy Spirit Baptism (Acts 1:5).
Because discipleship happens best in the context of
relationship within a church family, we also encourage you to make a
commitment to this church body. Commit Classes provide an opportunity
for us to discover and commit to the purpose of Grace Church and ensures
that the new believer in Christ is able to mature in an environment
that nurtures spiritual growth.
